BIG KING began with a simple frustration: leather goods were either disposable or unaffordable. We build the middle ground.
The approach
Fewer pieces, better made
BIG KING makes leather bags and a considered wardrobe for people who would rather own four good things than forty forgettable ones. We started because the market offered two options: disposable pieces that fell apart in a season, or heritage brands priced for a different income bracket. There was very little in between.
Everything we make is produced in small runs directly with the workshops that cut and stitch it. There is no distributor taking a margin, no licensing arrangement putting a logo on someone else’s product, and no seasonal churn designed to make last month’s piece feel obsolete.
We choose full-grain leather over corrected grain. It costs more and it is harder to work with, but the grain stays visible, the surface takes on colour as it ages, and the material survives being carried every day. A bag with corrected leather looks identical on day one and on day one thousand. Ours does not, and that is the point.
Our clothing follows the same logic: natural fibres, restrained cuts, construction that can be repaired rather than replaced. We do not chase trends, and we do not release a new collection every fortnight. When we do release something, it is because we found a way to make it better than what we already had.
Orders ship from the workshop within one to two business days. If something is wrong, our team answers within a business day and we fix it.
Full-grain, not corrected
We use full-grain leather, the top layer of the hide with the grain intact. It marks, it softens, it ages. Corrected leather looks uniform on day one and stays that way forever.
Small runs
Pieces are produced in runs of a few hundred, not tens of thousands. It costs more per unit. It also means we can adjust a pattern after the first batch instead of living with a mistake for a season.
Direct from the workshop
No distributors, no licensing, no middlemen. Orders leave the workshop and reach you, which is how we hold the price where it is.
Built to be repaired
Stitching is reinforced at every stress point, and hardware is standard-sized so it can be replaced. A bag that can be fixed is a bag you keep.
